NEWSLETTER: We’ve entered the new year in full force, and it looks as though we’re not the only ones.
2025 begins with CFD firms grappling with last years’ Dear CEO letter, setting out the FCA’s strategy for the next two years. With the deadline passing to agree and action plans with board members and other directors, we’ll shortly be setting out some of the critical next steps you’ll need to take in the weeks and months ahead.
Since the Operational Resilience rules came into force, the FCA has highlighted several risks it’s seen across the sector. We’ve set out six key risks and the questions you need to be asking to address the regulator’s concerns.
Over in Guernsey, the GFSC continues to monitor board effectiveness, and has been active in penalising firms where standards haven’t been met. We’ve identified four key areas where you can strengthen your governance arrangements to avoid unwanted repercussions.
We’ll also be attending and sponsoring the upcoming Guernsey IoD Mid-Term Breakfast event on the 26th of March. This year’s theme will focus on the topic of governance, offering valuable perspectives, and thought leadership in this key area. If you’re planning on attending and would like to set up a meeting with our team, please reach out.
Finally, many of our clients operating in Singapore are gearing up to complete their independent audits of cross-border arrangements. If you need some support to get over the line, let us know.
