Bovill was founded in 1999 by Ben Blackett-Ord and began as a small but specialist firm of compliance consultants. In 2024, Bovill Newgate was formed through a merger with the London-based firm Newgate Compliance.

1999
Bovill Newgate incorporated in London offering regulatory advice.
2006
Manchester office opens.
2012
Begin to offer project-based work in addition to our core regulatory advisory services.
2013
Appointed to work with the court appointed Monitor overseeing HSBC’s implementation of the US Department of Justice deferred prosecution agreement. Appointed to the FCA Skilled Persons panel to undertake investigations for Financial Crime, Conduct of Business, Prudential and Cass related notices.

Singapore office opens.
